In 2013, RedBull and other energy drinks were starting to gain traction on the remote islands of the Faroe Islands. I was fasinated by the new kind of “bold” designs that these energy drink companies had perfected, so I sat out to create my own kind of energy drink company. I created the concept, came up with a recipe that closely resembled what was available at the time and came up with three kinds of drinks.
Roko Energy - Battery
Tasted like all other energy drinks at the time (i.e. RedBull’s iconic taste). I took inspiration from a famous battery brand when creating the design.
Roko Energy - Magnumize
Tasted like sour and sweet apples. I wanted to make a collaboration with one of the gas station companies on the islands called “Magn,” hence the name “Magnumize.”
Roko Energy - King
Tasted like wild berries and was designed to appeal to the “skater”-crowd on the islands.
